Parent-Teacher Groups Give Gift of Technology

Thanks to large donations, schools will be able to buy new projectors, computers, Smartboards and other electronic items.

In the season of giving, Plainfield teachers are going to be thankful for the gifts they will be receiving.

Several parent-teacher organizations are helping supply elementary and middle schools with new technology.

At Lakewood Falls Elementary School, the PTA donated $20,000 to buy the fourth- and fifth-grade classrooms projectors and mobies, or hand-held projection devices.

The Wesmere Elementary School’s PTO donated $13,000 towards classroom projectors for first and second grades.

The PTA at donated $8,000 to buy Smartboards for each classroom.

At , the PTO bought a new athletic scoreboard at a cost not to exceed $7,500.

Finally, the Bernadene Brinkman estate donated $1,000 to Creekside Elementary School for use in its media center.
