The C.W. Avery Family YMCA will host a Back to School ‘meet and greet’ from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, for area families looking to learn more about the Y’s before and after school programs. The information session will be held at the Y’s Plainfield location, 15120 Wallin Drive, and will provide students and their parents with an opportunity to meet this year’s Kidz Zone staff and learn more about festivities planned for the upcoming school year.
As part of its Kidz Zone program, the C.W. Avery Family YMCA partners with Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 to provide recreational before and after school activities for elementary school students. The C.W. Avery Family YMCA’s Kidz Zone program currently serves students attending all elementary schools in District 202, providing much-needed before school and after school care for more than 400 families each year.
During the school year, Kidz Zone programs are open from 7-9 a.m. (approximately) before school, and 3-6 p.m. (approximately) after school. Programming is also available at the C.W. Avery Family YMCA on days when school is not in session, including institute days, holiday and spring breaks. Daily activities include arts and crafts, games and recreational activities.
