Park District to Host Snowman Building Contest, Day of Family Fun


Wish for lots of snow and bundle up!

The Plainfield Park District will host a snowman-building contest for families on Saturday, Jan. 8. The Snow Fun Day in the Park event (program # 16404A1) will take place from 1-4 p.m. in Boy Scout Park, next to the Recreation/Administration Center at 23729 W. Ottawa St. in Plainfield. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as most creative snowman, biggest snowman, and most decorative snowman. In addition, hot chocolate and cookies will be served by a campfire. Families must bring their own decorating materials. Contest will be judged at 2:30 p.m. After the snowman-building contest, there will be games for everyone to participate in. If there is no snow, there will still be a contest. Information will be provided to registered participants after the registration deadline, Wednesday, Jan. 5.
