Timber Ridge Middle School Students, Staff Play Hoops in "Jingle James" Fundraiser

Timber Ridge Middle School staff members and students will square off on the basketball court for the school's annual "Jingle Jams" fundraiser.

Proceeds from this event will benefit needy Timber Ridge families, the Relay for Life cancer walk and other school needs.

Tip-off will take place at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010, in the Timber Ridge gymnasium, 2101 Bronk Road, Plainfield.

Timber Ridge students can purchase their tickets in advance at school.  Adults, children and seniors can purchase tickets for $2 each at the door.  Additional donations are also welcome.

Donated prizes will be raffled off throughout the game.  At halftime there will be a three-point shooting contest, and possibly even a cheer routine by Timber Ridge staff members.

About a dozen brave Timber Ridge students and staff members have also agreed to participate in a change competition.  Empty milk jugs have been placed in the lunch room with the pictures of the volunteers.  The staff member and student who collect the most change throughout the week will get a pie put in their face during halftime of the basketball game.

"The event is always a lot of fun for a good cause," Timber Ridge Middle School Dean of Students Eric Danforth said.
