Armand's Named 'Best Pizza' at Plainfield Fest

Lucky hockey fans also won some Chicago Blackhawks jerseys, courtesy of The Penalty Box.

They came, they ate, they voted.

And in the end, Armand's Pizzeria came out on top in the first-ever Plainfield fest best pizza contest.

Guests paid $5 to taste the pizzas and cast their votes. Fest organizer Heather Heavens said 240 people lined up to taste-taste the six entries:


In the end, Armand's got the most votes, taking home the "best pizza" honors, Heavens said.


Lucky fan wins 'Hawks jersey


Plainfield's Penalty Box Bar & Grill pitched in at this year's fest, funding an appearance by Chicago Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk on Sunday.

The Route 59 business, which is an official Blackhawks road bar, also raffled off Chicago Blackhawks jerseys to two happy fans: Patty O'Connor was the lucky winner of a Daniel Carcillo jersey, while Michelle Campbell took home a Marian Hossa jersey.
