Gas Prices in Plainfield Below Illinois Average

As motorists prepare to fuel up and hit the open road this weekend they may feel a little less of a squeeze on their wallet at the pump.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the United States is $3.383, down 18 cents from a year ago. Prices are even lower from a month ago by 26 cents.

And while the average price in Illinois is currently higher at $3.55 a gallon, prices in Plainfield are lower than that number.

Most local stations are charging $3.44 per gallon.
