Jesus the Warrior

What is your picture of Jesus? Meek and mild? Gentle and soft? Weak?

How about...

Riding on a white horse. Faithful and true. Judging. Making war. Eyes like flaming fire. His head topped with multiple crowns. Robe dipped in the blood of his enemies. Galloping into battle followed by the troops of heaven, dressed in brilliant white linen, all riding on white horses. A sharp sword coming from his mouth. Cutting down the nations and ruling them with an iron rod. Stomping on the objects of his wrath in Almighty God's winepress. (Revelation 19:11-16)

Sin is rebellion against God.

When Jesus came the first time, he died a brutal death on the cross, taking excruciating punishment for the sins of the world. Read that again: for YOUR sins. That's how much God loves the world who hates and rebels against Him.

When he comes the next time, Jesus, the "King of kings and Lord of lords," terrifying war hero, will bring the wrath of God against evil and sin. This leaves us with two options.

(1) Ignore Jesus and hope he goes away. He won't. Your sin debt will continue piling up and you will have effectively chosen sides in the war between good and evil. The wrong side.

(2) Receive the free gift Jesus offers you--His own LIFE. Believe in his authority and trust him for the forgiveness of your sins. He will attack your sin and do away with it--just like he would have before--but this time you will be separate from it. He will be on your side, breaking your chains and smashing your shackles. You'll be able to BREATHE, free from your sin and finally able to run toward your Father full steam ahead. You will be set free to live the way your Father made you to live.

There is nothing like having your sins forgiven and your debt erased by Jesus Christ.
