The Other Locksmith stayed to watch

I received a call from a frantic customer this evening.  She had called another locksmith - one of the $15 service call guys - and after waiting an hour from him to arrive. He tried for a 1/2 hour to pick the lock before declaring that he would have to drill her lock to get her in.  It just didn't sound right to her.  So she called me.

No one can guarantee that they can pick a lock, but I did reassure her with my statistics on successfully picking her type of lock.  She decided to pay the other guy's $15 service call fee and have me come out to let her in.  I don't offer a ridiculously low $15 service call fee, but results are more important than price when you are locked out.

When I got there (in about 10 minutes) the other locksmith was still there.  He asked me if he could stay and watch me.  It wasn't a problem with me so I let him watch.  It took me less than 2 minutes to bypass the lock and get the customer into the house.  Watching is not the same as doing.  I don't imagine he learned anything by watching except how efficiently a real locksmith gets their job done.
