Three Injured in Crash Near Route 126 and Ridge

Three people were hurt in the head-on crash shortly before noon Tuesday, officials said.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said three people were taken to area hospitals after a head-on crash at Route 126 and Ridge Road at about 11:42 a.m. Tuesday.

Stratton said the female driver of a red Honda was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital. The female driver of the other vehicle, a silver Lexus SUV, was also taken to Copley, while a female passenger went to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. All three women were in fair condition, Stratton aid.

Crews are responding to a traffic crash near the intersection of Route 126 and Ridge Road in Plainfield.

A CINS alert about the crash was sent out at about 12:10 p.m.

No injuries are reported yet.

Drivers should avoid the area until emergency crews have cleared the scene.
