Man Injured in Route 126 Motorcycle Crash

Incident was the second crash on Route 126 Friday in Plainfield.

A man was hurt after losing control of his motorcycle Friday afternoon in Plainfield, according to Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton.

  • Stratton said the man was on Main Street/Route 126 about a half-mile west of Essington Road when the crash happened around 1:20 p.m.


    "He noticed traffic had stopped, he hit the brakes, tipped the bike and skidded along the asphalt," Stratton said.

    The man was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in stable condition, according to officials.

    Route 126 was closed for about 20 minutes following the crash, Stratton said.

    The crash was the second on Route 126 Friday. Just down the road, two people were injured in a three-car crash at around 8 a.m.
