One Person Transported After Side-Swipe Crash on 119th Street

One person was taken to an area hospital as a precaution after a two-car accident in the construction zone at 119th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road near Plainfield East High School, officials said.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said the crash happened at around 4:30 p.m. No one else was hurt in the incident, which happened when one car side-swiped the other, he said.

The accident created additional traffic hassles in the construction zone, according to Stratton. "Cops were on the scene for quite a while," he said.
