Police Close Jefferson Street Due to Whiteout Conditions

Motorists will need to find an alternate route until the weather improves.

State police have shut down a portion of Jefferson Street (Route 52) because of blowing and drifting snow causing white out conditions.

The section of Jefferson from Wynstone Boulevard in Shorewood to Baltz Road near County Line Road will be reopened once weather conditions improve and the roadway is passable.

Drivers can take River Road north to Black Road, west to County Line Road and south back to Jefferson Street as alternate routes.

Holy cow! I know sections of roads near those fields of snow can get rough, but I didn't know it was so bad. Glad they are being proactive, especially with the horrible and tragic deaths during white out conditions on I80 this week in Indiana.
