Riverdays Mud Volleyball Tourney Now Free

The entrance fee for the Plainfield riverfront festival event has been eliminated, but the deadline to sign up is Friday.

If you want to participate in ' first Mud Volleyball Tournament but you weren't keen on having to get team members to pony up to play, your problem has been solved.

Riverdays organizers say they competition is now free in order to encourage more people to get involved, said Laura Estoll, who works for , which is sponsoring the event.

Riverdays, a fundraiser for the Plainfield Riverfront Foundation, is being held noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 10 in Riverfront Park. In addition to the tournament, there will be family games, live music, food, a "duck race" fundraising event, a bean bag tournament, an art fair and other activities.

The deadline to sign up for the mud volleyball tournament is Friday, Estoll said.
