Coffee with Mayor Collins, First Day of School Ahead in Plainfield
The Plainfield YMCA will also host a mini and kids triathlon this week.
It's a big week in Plainfield, one that many parents (although not many kids) eagerly anticipate.
School starts this week in Plainfield District 202, kicking off with a full day on Thursday, Aug. 15.
But that's not all that's happening this week:
Monday
Learn how to compost during an informative "Green Village" program at 7 p.m. Monday at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St.
Tuesday
Get help with your job hunt at the St. Mary Immaculate employment ministry's job search support meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Also happening Tuesday is the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce's weekly Cruise Night, set for 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Plainfield.
Wednesday
Have coffee with Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins; hear about updates on the Village of Plainfield and ask questions in an informal setting at 9 a.m. at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St.
Thursday
It's back to school day in Plainfield; are you ready?

The C.W. Avery Family YMCA will host its annual Mini and Kids Triathlon at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at its Plainfield location, 15120 Wallin Dr.
