Job Search Support, Plainfield State of the Village on Tap

A look ahead at what's happening in Plainfield this week.

Now that the worst of the cold weather — we hope — is behind us, it's time to get back to business as usual in Plainfield.

While Monday night's village Committee of the Whole meeting has been cancelled (the meeting is now set for Saturday, Jan. 18), there's plenty going on this week.

On Tuesday, job hunters can get help with a job search support event at St. Mary Immaculate, courtesy of the church's Employment Ministry. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m.; click to learn more.

On Wednesday, the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual "State of the Village" luncheon. Mayor Mike Collins and village officials will give an update on village finances, development and more as we begin 2014. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville. Cost is $30 per person. Click here for more details.
