Plainfield Board to Consider Landmark Status for Ingersoll House

A look at what's happening in Plainfield.

The Plainfield village board will meet Monday to vote on whether to make an more than century-old home a historic landmark.

The Ingersoll House, which now sits at 24010 Commercial St., was relocated to avoid the wrecking ball. It was previously part of the property owned by Dr. Peter Muraglia of Plainfield Dental, located at Route 59 and Commercial Street. After Muraglia proposed tearing the home down to expand the dental office’s parking lot, it was relocated to its current site.

In August, trustees granted owner Deb Olsen's request to build an addition to the property, which is being restored.

Monday's village board meeting is set for 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St.
