Plainfield Board to Vote on Cornerstone Group Home

Plus, headlines you might have missed.

Village trustees are slated to vote Monday night on an ordinance that would grant approval for a Cornerstone Services group home on Indian Boundary Road.

At a committee meeting last month, trustees seemed unanimous in their support of the group home, which would serve up to eight adults with developmental disabilities. Cornerstone plans to build a brick ranch home at 15606 S. Indian Boundary Rd.

Despite concern from some residents over issues like traffic, parking and safety, trustees seemed to be in agreement that the home would be an asset to Plainfield.

"This isn't a halfway house for criminals or drug addicts, it's for people with disabilities," trustee Dan Rippy said "... This is a good thing."
