Prep for College, Back to School in Plainfield

The Plainfield Farmers Market is also happening this weekend.

The Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., will help students and caregivers get ready for college with a seminar at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Learn how to navigate the complicated college preparation process while in high school or as an adult college student. Financial aid and scholarships will also be discussed. Register to attend the program at www.plainfieldpubliclibrary.org or call 815-327-2515.

Heading into Labor Day weekend, there's plenty more happening in Plainfield:

Friday


A new Plainfield business, Versed Salon, will host a free seminar on hair and makeup tips for back to school.

The event is at 6 p.m. Friday at the salon, 11914 S. Route 59, and is open to ages 18 and under.

Saturday


The Plainfield Farmers market returns from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the southwest corner of Route 59 and Lockport Street.

Sunday


In advance of Labor Day, the Plainfield Public Library is closed. The library will resume its Sunday hours (1 to 5 p.m.) on Sept. 8.
