Welcome a Plainfield Soldier This Saturday
Staging will take place at the Plainfield Moose Lodge.
Operation Welcome You Home will host a flag line and welcome for Army SPC Thomas McSorley Jr. this Saturday, Oct. 12.
A 2007 Plainfield South High School graduate, McSorley trained at Fort Benning, Georgia, and has been based at Fort Drum, New York, with the 10th Mountain Division since January 2011. He was deployed to Afghanistan in January and returned to the U.S. on Sept. 24.
Now, the Plainfield community is invited to celebrate his homecoming with parents Tom and Jo, and brother Matthew.
Participants are asked to be at the Plainfield Mose Lodge, 16310 S. Lincoln Highway, by 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A briefing and flag line is set for 11:45 a.m., with McSorley to arrive at noon. Click here for more information.
According to a release from Operation Welcome You Home, McSorley will complete his military career in January 2014 and looks forward to going back to school and spending time with family and friends.
