From 8 a.m. to noon, St. Mary Immaculate invites residents to come out and write letters to military men and women. The event will take place in the gym, 15629 S. Route 59.
The church is also collecting items to be shipped to the troops including Slim Jims, jelly (32 oz. or less; no glass), condiments like mayo and mustard, toilet paper, cereal bars, magazines/books, body wash, foot powder, microwave popcorn, anti-itch and antibiotic cream and greeting cards.
