Hey Folks. This may come as a shock but its a "Diner", not a white tablecloth establishment. Its never going to be a Southern Helle or the Crappy Waffle establishment you want. If its that bad stay out as I wish most of you transplants would have. Me personally I like the place because I can take it like it is. Again its a Diner. That sign in front of the restaurant has been there since the place was called? What? Anyone of you outstanding critics have the answer? I'll bet not, not right off the top of your head without looking it up. Its a bit of Americana. Get back your rotten burbs that you slithered in from.

Larry's was never good and has gotten far worse. Yesterday I had rancid stuffed peppers and my husband had bad shrimp with, if you can believe it, cocktail sauce frozen solid. The salads were ok as was the tapioca pudding.

Hard to believe they are still in business.

I'm torn on this one. I realize its been a staple to the village for many years. I have lived in Plainfield for over 9 years and have been to Larry's about 3 times. I have never had a good experience, other than the price. The tables are always dirty, the food is sub-par even for diner food and only once did I have a decent server. I guess seniors like it because its cheap, but taste and service hate to come into play as well and Larry's just isn't the whole sha-bang. Unless your a regular, they don't provide good service.

The best place in town to get a tasty, satisfying meal served by a friendly wait staff that makes all customers feel like old friends. Prices are very good, atmosphere great. Management has always been extremely generous in support of this community, such as giving away over 500 free, full Thanksgiving dinners to all seniors every year and supporting every charitable event. The best!

My favorite! Great food, good atmosphere, & reasonable prices. A seniors paradise! Never had a bad meal here since 1996 when we first moved to Plainfield. Larry's Diner deserves an award!
