The Plainfield Historical Society is located in an old grain elevator office on Route 126. The society was founded in 1976, on the Bicentennial. Some exhibits at the museum include a history of downtown Plainfield, a replica of Ft. Beggs, a look at local churches, and photos of WWI and the Civil War. The museum was recently renovated and there are gifts for sale.
