Trying to distract from the fact that they have wild captured whales and dolphins in their poolsRead More that they kidnapped to exploit for money!

Learning how to take care of this whale species now will save it from extinction decades from nowRead More when their numbers are diminished through reckless hunting.

There are good reasons for certain institutions to capture wild creatures. WS mentioned one. ThatRead More said, there is the problem with over stocking of captured animals and not understanding them. Orcas are the primary example. Most orcas are not being captured for study but for profit. And when you have an 8 - 10 ton animal in an enclosed space your may have trouble - two trainers killed by the same orca. There are no recorded instances of orcas attacking humans in the wild - get one in a tank and even if the death is accidental you are still playing with fire - orcas are not dogs. They are highly intelligent creatures - actually the largest member of the dolphin family although their size resulted in their being termed "whale" many years ago and it has stuck. So I agree with both Gina and William on that subject. I am a little surprised that the Shedd is now expanding into a dog show as well. if that helps encourage people to adopt rescued dogs, great.

(20 ILCS 1605/2) (from Ch. 120, par. 1152) Sec. 2. This Act is enacted to implement andRead More establish within the State a lottery to be conducted by the State through the Department. The entire net proceeds of the Lottery are to be used for the support of the State's Common School Fund, except as provided in subsection (o) of Section 9.1 and Sections 21.2, 21.5, 21.6, 21.7, and 21.8. Ty, the even bigger political game was that the lottery was sold to ADD TO school funding. Instead,Read More what they did was to use the proceeds to REPLACE the existing funding. The net effect is the schools got about the same amount of money but the state got a huge windfall of new money (the old source of money that used to go to the schools) that they then used on port barrel spending to buy themselves more years at the public trough.

After all she went through to lose the weight if she went to far she needs encouragement and helpRead More with a proper maintenance diet not criticism. Then again I'm fat and short so I'm pretty anti criticism.

She has an eating disorder, over eating and aneroxia are the same problem. Hopefully the show willRead More help her get this issue under control so she can stay at a healthy weight.
P-Ville Lifer February 6, 2014 at 01:54 pm
She doesn't look healthy at all; she looks like a walking skeleton. It's one thing to lose theRead More extra weight but it's another thing to do it in a unhealthy way. The rapid weight loss has made her look older; she doesn't have much muscle tone either. I sincerely hope she gets some help before she has any serious health issues from becoming too skinny. Also I think it sends the wrong message to the many young people who watch the show; that you have to a walking skeleton to win. I can't believe the trainers on the show didn't monitor her weight loss and see what she was doing.
