Plainfield East Student to Perform in Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade

Unlike most of Plainfield, one District 202 teen won’t be spending this Thanksgiving at home with her family. Instead, Plainfield East sophomore Amanda Burke will be enjoying the limelight as a performer in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 15-year-old won a spot on the All-American Dance Team at the National Dance Alliance summer camp last June at Valparaiso University. Amanda was at the camp with her dance team, the Romeoville Razzlers, when she got the chance to audition for the All-American Dancer designation.
