For Kim D’Angelo, jewelry making started as a simple extension of a lifelong interest that has progressed into a successful business. “I always had a desire to do this,” said D’Angelo, a Plainfield resident. “I majored in fashion at Valparaiso University and I’ve always been interested in design. I just started off doing bead wrapping but like any artist, I grew and my work developed.” As her artistic talents progressed, so did others’ interest in her product. Seven years ago a friend of D’Angelo’s was hosting a purse party in her home and invited her to display and sell her jewelry. “I only had a few pieces then, but I got such great responses from people at that party that I knew after that I was going to start my business,” she said. …
