Plainfield North has made it into the Final Four of Comcast's School Spirit Contest.
OK, Plainfield – we still have one more shot to prove our March Madness prowess. Sure, we’re still recovering from our resounding defeat at the hands of Mokena in Eric and Kathy’s 101.9 - The Mix's Battle of the Burbs. And, true, Plainfield East got left behind on the brackets in the Comcast 100 Battle of the Fans Madness Championship. But we can stiill move on to steal victory from the arms of defeat. Our last chance at March Madness mastery comes thanks to the super school spirit of Plainfield North High School and the "Crimson Crazies," who routed competitors to make the Final Four of Comcast’s first-ever Battle of the Fans Madness tournament. Plainfield North scored 62 percent of last week's vote, leaving St. Patrick High School in …

Even so, there's still hope for March media madness as Plainfield North and East are still seeded in the Comcast contest.
This was no morning to sleep in. Plainfield’s dreams of “Battle of the Burbs” glory snoozed to a numbing defeat when Mokena knocked it out of the championship round with a 75 percent drubbing in the 7:30 a.m. Wednesday radio showdown. Despite being proclaimed the odds-on favorite on Monday by morning radio duo Eric and Kathy in the 101.9-FM/The Mix's annual Suburban Madness Battle of the Burbs, Plainfield dropped the ball Wednesday morning. Mokena and Tinley Park will tip off in the championship round. But who cares now? We were wide awake on Monday, sweeping past Palatine by an awesome 62 to 38 percent margin to blast into the Final Four. But this morning? Twenty-five percent? The only thing we can do now is to wonder what went wrong and…

The town that gets the most online votes from 7:30 to 8 a.m. Tuesday moves on in the contest.
If you were lucky, your NCAA bracket survived the weekend. Most likely, it was busted by Friday night. But there's a chance to redeem your bracketology skills — 101.9-FM/The Mix's 2011 Suburban Madness Battle of the Burbs. Plainfield was one of 16 "teams" chosen Monday in a matchup that will test the mettle of hometown spirit. At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the village faces off against Oak Forest in an online voting frenzy that will lead to an overall winner of the best in all the 'burbs. Votes are cast through the Eric and Kathy Show's Scoop page, and will be collected for just a half hour. The overall winner gets a chance to showcase their city at its finest. Last year's winner, Bartlett, overtook Tinley Park in the final round, and threw …
