Slate Wins Support at Wheatland Republican Caucus

Group of candidates hopes to oust current township board.

A group of Republicans who say they want to restore transparency and put an end to “chaos” on the Wheatland Township board will run as a slate in the April 9, 2013 election. READ: GOP GROUP HOPES TO WIN SUPPORT AT WHEATLAND CAUCUS “Our entire slate was nominated to represent the Republicans on the April 9th ballot,” current deputy clerk Bill Alstrom said of the Dec. 4 Wheatland Republican caucus. Alstrom is running to replace clerk Chuck Kern, who in turn is running for township supervisor. Residents who voted a Republican ballot in the March 2012 primary were eligible to attend Tuesday night’s caucus. According to Alstrom, 170 people turned out for the event, held at John F. You're statements are correct, Frank King and Doug Haddad can run as independents if they so choose. Mike may not run as in the agreement for showing up at the Cacus and running as a Republican (you cannot turncoat and run as an independent because you lost the caucus.)   more ›
