Family dispute leaves two brothers hospitalized, with charges pending, police said.
Two brothers wound up in the hospital after getting into a fight at a Plainfield hunting and fishing club, police said. Will County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said deputies responded to a domestic dispute at the Pure Rod and Gun Club, 23239 W. Main St., late Thursday night. Hoffmeyer said the brothers were drinking when they got into an argument that ended with one man being taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for injuries sustained when he was beaten. The other brother was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet after being stabbed. Hoffmeyer did not know the extent of his injuries, but said they were not life threatening. Special prosecutor from Springfield who handled the domestic battery case against Democratic state House candidate Natalie Manley dismissed the matter in August.
A series of fortunate events in the three months following Natalie Manley’s arrest on suspicion she battered her adult daughter resulted in the Democrat state rep candidate emerging from her legal ordeal with virtually no trace she spent a night in jail and faced possible prosecution. There is no criminal complaint against Manley on file in the office of the Will County Circuit Clerk, nor is there a misdemeanor case, despite Manley’s arrest on probable cause for domestic battery.
