A Plainfield business will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with an event to benefit local firefighters at Durbin’s of Plainfield, 16031 S. Lincoln Highway. Premium beverage company Diageo and Guinness have teamed up with the Denis Leary Firefighters Foundation to give back to firefighters across the country. “We’ve taken it to another level and made it local,” said Dave Dwyer, a representative of Guinness brands for CITY Beverage Illinois, which has partnered with Diageo and Durbin’s to bring the program to Plainfield. All new Resturant/Bar opennings normally pack the parking lot. I noticed Wal-Mart lot was packed as well as McDonalds. Using your theory then I am betting that patrons DO agree with the cheap merchandise theory. If I want Ambiance the last place I want to go to is a Dog Pound,or Dairy Farm,or a Brewery. The remodeling is done, and the newly hired staff members at Durbin’s will welcome their first diners on Monday. Located in the former Pom Poms bar and grill at 16031 S. Lincoln Highway, the family owned eatery is the seventh Durbin’s restaurant in the Chicago suburbs. Owner Tom McAuliffe described Monday as a soft opening for the restaurant, known for its award-winning pizza. “We’re planning a grand opening for a week or two after that, a big blowout,” he said. Durbin's has restaurants in Burbank, Evergreen Park, Midlothian, Tinley Park, Palos Hills and Frankfort. went here last night to see my favorite band Hey Jimmy. OMG it smelled like smoke from the people in the front bar smoking!!!! How is the world is smoking allowed?? I could not breathe during my dinner. No vent system. Just some fans circulating the disgusting smoke around. My clothes smelled like smoke BADLY!!! Had to shower when I got home. Repel smoking there PLEASE!!!!!!   more ›

A family owned eatery with a 25-year tradition is coming to Plainfield. Owner Tom McAuliffe said Durbin’s will take over the former Pom Poms All-American Bar & Grill location, 16031 S. Lincoln Highway, within the next month. The restaurant has been vacant since October 2010. “We’ve been looking for a location and we know Plainfield is a good area,” McAuliffe said of the chain’s decision to come to the village. “They’re our kind of people.” The Plainfield branch will be the seventh in the Durbin’s family, joining locations in Burbank, Evergreen Park, Midlothian, Tinley Park, Palos Hills and Frankfort.
