Bond Set at at $500,000 in Plainfield Hijacking, Kidnapping Attempt

Erin Johnson remained in the Will County jail Wednesday.

Bond was set at $500,000 Wednesday for a  Plainfield man accused of trying to steal a woman’s car — and kidnap her in the process. Erin Johnson, 19, of 16491 Plainsman Circle is charged with kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Police said Johnson was looking to steal a car when he approached a woman as she was getting into her vehicle during the pre-dawn hours of Nov. 13 and attempted to force her into the passenger seat. According to the Will County Circuit Court website, he has 4 pending cases before the court as of now. They include a Burglary from July (to which he plead guilty and is awaiting sentencing), Use of a Forged Credit Card from August (to which he also plead guilty and is awaiting sentencing), Resisting a Peace Officer also in August but on a different date (yep, plead guilty and awaiting sentencing…   more ›

Police: Plainfield Man Tried to Kidnap Woman at Knifepoint

Erin E. Johnson is charged with kidnapping, vehicular hijacking after allegedly trying to force woman into car early Tuesay.

A Plainfield man is facing several felony charges after allegedly attempting to abduct a woman at knifepoint as she got into her vehicle early Tuesday morning in the 16300 block of Fairfield Drive, police said. Erin E. Johnson, 19, of 16941 Plainsman Circle is charged with kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
