Self-Sufficient Living Topic of Green Lecture

Deborah Niemann will be the guest speaker at the Green Village talk on Monday night.

Deborah Niemann, author of Homegrown and Handmade, will offer guidance on how to live more self-sufficiently at Monday's Green Village lecture. Niemann, who moved from suburban Chicago to a 32-acre farm in Cornell, Ill., will speak at 7 p.m. at the Plainfield Public Library. Among the things she'll discuss is why it's better -- both for you and the environment -- to grow your own food and to make meals from scratch, and tips on how to make the transition. One audience member will be chosen to receive a free copy of Niemann's book. The Green Village Lecture Series is a partnership between the village of Plainfield and the Plainfield Public Library District.
