Plainfield North Senior Named a Finalist in Singing Competitions
The teen will compete in Classical Singer Magazine singing contest this May in Boston.
A Plainfield North High School senior's voice is getting her noticed. Last September, Karlie Traversa, 17, was named a finalist in a singing contest at Milikin University's College Vocal Festival. Traversa, who competed with more than 100 high schoolers from throughout Illinois, was selected as a "top 5" finalist and earned an honorable mention for her performance. More recently, Traversa competed in Classical Singer Magazine's national classical singer contest. After auditioning at North Park University in Chicago, the Plainfield teen was chosen as a contestant in the high school division and went on to be selected as a first-round finalist.
