New Plainfield Restaurant 'Taking Hot Dogs to the Next Level'

Frank's Night Out opened Feb. 1 and has already picked up a loyal following, according to the owner.

A new Plainfield restaurateur is looking to create an experience that’s not just your typical night out. Chef Marcus Mooney said his new restaurant, Frank’s Night Out, offers affordable meals that stand out from the crowd. “We’re doing things that set us apart from a regular hot dog stand,” he said of the business, which opened Feb. 1, just a few doors down from Nevin’s Brewing Company, 12337 S. Route 59. Get Plainfield news delivered right to your inbox — sign up for the Plainfield Patch newsletter. Mooney — who also happens to be the corporate chef at Nevin’s — said Frank’s was inspired in part by his travels with his wife. “My wife and I went to Oktoberfest in Germany,” he said of the inspiration of naming the restaurant after the …

Nevin’s Brewing Preps for November Opening

The Plainfield brewpub, which will fill the space formerly occupied by Limestone, is tentatively scheduled to open the day before Thanksgiving.

It’s taken a bit longer than anticipated, but plans are coming together for a new brewpub on Route 59. Co-owner Steve Cin said a new opening date of Nov. 21 is planned for Nevin’s Brewing Company, which will fill the space formerly housed by Limestone Brewing, 12337 S. Route 59. Originally, the location was tentatively scheduled to open around Labor Day, Cin told Patch in June. “We really increased the size of the brewery,” Cin said, adding it’s taken some time for some of the new brewing equipment to arrive. “We purchased a 15 [barrel] Belgium system — it is beautiful.” Sign up for Plainfield Patch’s daily newsletter and add us on Facebook. Cin said Nevin’s is also in the process of finalizing its federal licensing to operate the brewery…

I have had Tommy Nevins in Naperville a bunch of times and have to say they have a pretty tasty burger! I wanted to try some of their wild game burgers one of these days. I wonder if this will be the same menu as down the street or totally new. If anything keep the burger selection.   more ›
