@ Susan (AKA. Tawanda the Avenger) who said: "I believe you are Tawanda The Avenger and this a clever game you are engaged in to what end I am unsure". That is such a stolid statement I am short of words and this could be the last word!!! LMAO at you. Let's come up with something that, at least, makes a little bit of sense! You really are stretching aren't you.....I'm not sure either, what end …   more ›

Poll: Who Will Get Your Vote for President?

The primary's Tuesday, and Illinois voters have a chance to influence who will get the Republican nomination.

For the first time in a long time, how people vote in Illinois' presidential primary may actually affect which candidate wins the Republican presidential nomination. The match seems to be boiling down to Mitt Romney, who until recently was seen by many as the front-runner, and Rick Santorum, who seems to be gathering strength thanks to a string of primary victories. But you can't count out Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, who might be facing high odds in terms of winning but could could end up controlling delegates at the convention should there be no clear-cut winner. So, Plainfield residents, with our turn to vote Tuesday, who's going to get your ballot?

I will vote for consistency, ridding of federal reserve, and a man who opts for government to allow states to make decisions on topics like abortion, marijuana, marriage. That would be Ron Paul.   more ›

I guess Erno should look up Sheriff Joe's report over the long form. It is a shame that the media is ignoring this report and even computer experts are backing his report to the forgery. Sad day when we ignore our constitution's requirement of electing our president and think it's a joke.   more ›

Poll Results: Paul Supporters Voted Early and Often

Numbers skewed by onslaught of Paul supporter votes cast shortly after the poll was opened.

The downside to an unscientific poll that places no limit on the number of times people can vote is it can sometimes get hijacked by those who feel strongly about an issue or, in this case, a person. Such was the case with our presidential poll, in which asked readers to tell us who would get their vote for for president if the election were today. By the early morning hours Friday, the day the poll was posted, there were more than 200 votes for Ron Paul and only one each for Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Given that Paul, while having done very well, has yet to win a caucus or primary, it was clear his supporters had voted early and voted often. Only a handful of voters weighed in after that, which is too bad because we here at Patch …

The javascript code that pops up in every single persons browser is right there for them to read. They can verify for themselves whether you are being honest in claiming 'voted often' simply by looking at the code right on their own computer. Looks like more than one already has done that. There is a difference between 'unlikely' and not true. Your 'common sense' also thinks censorship is …   more ›

The real caption should state. "I'll make this statement short because I don't want to answer real questions on the economy, gas prices, my campaign promises I've broken, employment numbers my office is fudging with, and all the other issues that affect our nation that cripple it." and "Oh! my bungled health care program that my own secretary of health doesn't realize that it will raise our …   more ›

Poll: Ron Paul's Going to Be Our Next President?

The GOP horse race -- as things stand right now -- seems to be between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, but can either beat Obama?

If you believe the pundits -- this week, at least -- the GOP primary's going to boil down to a choice between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Does either man have your vote or do you prefer one of the other Republican contenders? More importantly, do you think any of them have the ability to oust President Obama? Take our poll below. We'll keep voting open through the weekend and will report back Monday on what Plainfield Patch readers had to say. Please add any thoughts you have about the election in the comment box below.
