Housing Market: November Home Sales Up More Than 70 Percent in Plainfield

Sales are up compared with a year ago, along with the average sale price.

The 92 detached, single-family homes sold in Plainfield during November represented a 73.6 percent increase over November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 98 homes sold in Plainfield in October. The median price of homes sold in November ($186,950) also represented an increase, rising 4.4 percent compared to the median price of homes sold a year ago ($179,000).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Will and Kendall counties saw growth in November, MORe reported. Plainfield Home Sales Up, But Prices Dip: October Home Sales

Plainfield home sales went up more than 21 percent in October 2012 from the number of sales in October 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 98 Plainfield homes sold in the month of October represented a 21.3 percent increase from October 2011. The homes sold for a median price of $174,950, down from $199,500, in October 2011.  Plainfield home sales in October were also up —ever so slightly — from September, when 97 homes were sold.  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Kendall and Will counties saw growth in October, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). Plainfield Home Sales, Prices Up as Chicago Area Hits Six-Year High

Plainfield's real estate market leapt forward in September as the bulk of the Chicago area saw a bump in year-over-year comparisons.

Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—and most of Will and Kendall counties saw a similar boost. In Plainfield, home sales increased 21.3 percent, with prices also increasing by 5.3 percent, in Sept. 2012 over Sept. 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). Nearby Montgomery saw the greatest increase in the area, with the number of homes sold increasing 80 percent, according to the report.
