Evening Luminary Event Honors Plainfield's Dead
Overman-Jones has held the memorial service for the last 12 years; luminaries are lit for Plainfield residents who have died in the past year.
An outdoor luminary will be lit Wednesday night in honor of every Plainfield person who died over the past year in a special remembrance program held at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home. The 12th Annual Memorial Luminary Program will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service conducted by the Rev. Melissa Hood at 6 p.m. Hood is the former pastor of Sharon United Methodist Church of Plainfield and currently helms the Community United Methodist Church of Naperville. Anyone whose funeral services were handled by Overman-Jones will be recognized, as will those people whose families have contacted the funeral home and asked for them to be included.
