Two Plainfield Township men face felony charges after the Will County Gang Suppression Unit seized two semi-automatic weapons and thousands of grams of cannabis and synthetic cannabis during a search of their Hampton Court home. Oudam Thou, 26, and Robert Thou, 22, of the 1900 block of Hampton Court, are charged with manufacture/delivery of 2,000-5,000 grams of cannabis. IHS Cigars and Tobacco on Route 30 was one of two Will County retailers caught selling synthetic marijuana this week, police said.
A Will County task force on Thursday seized 20 packages of synthetic marijuana from a Plainfield tobacco store after making a similar bust at a Joliet retailer, according to the Herald-News. Members of the Cooperative Police Assistance Team (CPAT) executed a search warrant at IHS Cigars and Tobacco, 16200 S. Lincoln Highway, and discovered the stash of K-2, or synthetic marijuana, hidden behind a display rack of candy, police said. Shop owners are raking in outlandish profits on synthetic marijuana, marking up the product as much as 500 percent, said Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow. And that's why at least some merchants plan to continue carrying it despite a law that makes its sale a felony starting Jan. 1. During a Tuesday press conference at Shorewood Village Hall, Glasgow — who was joined by state Rep.
