Plainfield Gets a Shout-Out During Melissa McCarthy’s ‘Daily Show’ Appearance
Plainfield native gave a nod to “little-town Plainfield” while promoting her new movie on Jon Stewart’s show.
It may no longer be the sleepy farm town she left behind, but Melissa McCarthy hasn’t forgotten her roots in Plainfield. The “Mike & Molly” and “Bridesmaids” star recognized her hometown during a Jan. 29 appearance on “The Daily Show,” giving “little-town Plainfield” a shout-out. McCarthy was on Jon Stewart’s show to promote her new movie, “Identity Thief,” costarring Jason Bateman. Plainfield needs a Hall of Fame, possibly located in the lobby of the Village Hall to honor people such as Meiissa and other famous folks who have their roots in Plainfield. It should inlcude people in the Arts, Sports, Politics, and other professional fields on the National stage..   more ›
