Oswego 308 Approves Purchase of New Transportation Facility

The decision to purchase a building rather than build a new facility at the current location could save up to $800,000 of what was previously budgeted.

Oswego School District 308 has approved the purchase of a transportation facility at a new site rather than build one at the existing location. The recommendation came from Superintendent Matthew Wendt to purchase a building to house the district’s transportation department—a move that likely will save up to $800,000 what was previously allocated to construct a new transportation facility. Last year the board allocated $2.7 million to build a new transportation facility on its current site. Vendor bids for the construction of the new facility were requested at twice by the board.
