It's against the law for election judges to be asked for identification before someone's allowed to vote. To register a complaint, call 815-727-8872.
Last updated: 3:50 p.m. Nov. 6. Debbie, who asked that her last name not be used, said she observed numerous voters being asked to show ID at her polling place, Plainfield Fire Station #3, 25001 W. 119th St. "Everyone had to show ID," she said, noting it was her first time voting in Illinois. "I did not witness someone NOT showing ID ... There were at least 20-25 people up there when I just went, and every person was showing ID, every single one. I watched diligently." Joliet resident Caroline Hoag said every voter she observed at her Wedgewood Golf …

Culver's, home o' the ButterBurger, led all weekend long and took in more than a quarter of the vote.
Lots of places make a good burger in Plainfield, but it was two chains -- Culver's and Red Robin -- that reign supreme among the more than 230 people who cast votes in Plainfield Patch's "Who makes the best burger" poll. Two locally owned places, however, had good showings. Uptown Grill netted 14 percent of the vote and Katie O'Connor's was just behind it with 12 percent. And every business on the list netted at least one vote. And we must give kudos to Doggy Diner, which was not on the list but received three "write-in" votes from readers who left comments. Here are the results when the poll ended at 9:50 p.m. Sunday: Culver's -- 63 votes (26 percent) Red Robin -- 43 (18 percent) Uptown Eatery & Tap -- 33 (14 percent) Katie O'Connor's …
