The suspect persuaded the Plainfield woman, 32, to meet him in the Fairfield Inn lobby by telling her he wanted to repay her money he'd borrowed, Joliet police said.
A former Plainfield resident who allegedly lured a former girlfriend to a Joliet motel on the pretext of paying back money he owed her only to rape her in a public rest room was arrested Saturday night, Joliet police said. Jonathan M. Fox, 25, of 1102 Theresa Arbor Drive in Tampa, Florida, contacted the Plainfield woman by text several times in an effort to persuade her to meet him at the Fairfield Inn, 3239 Norman Ave., not far from the Louis Joliet Mall, Cmdr. Al Roechner said. The 32-year-old woman had a restraining order filed against Fox but agreed to meet him in the motel lobby at 6 p.m., Roechner said.
