Man Raped Ex in Motel Restroom, Police Say

The suspect persuaded the Plainfield woman, 32, to meet him in the Fairfield Inn lobby by telling her he wanted to repay her money he'd borrowed, Joliet police said.

A former Plainfield resident who allegedly lured a former girlfriend to a Joliet motel on the pretext of paying back money he owed her only to rape her in a public rest room was arrested Saturday night, Joliet police said. Jonathan M. Fox, 25, of 1102 Theresa Arbor Drive in Tampa, Florida, contacted the Plainfield woman by text several times in an effort to persuade her to meet him at the Fairfield Inn, 3239 Norman Ave., not far from the Louis Joliet Mall, Cmdr. Al Roechner said. The 32-year-old woman had a restraining order filed against Fox but agreed to meet him in the motel lobby at 6 p.m., Roechner said. Teens Arrested After Police Spot Loaded Gun

The three were driving around with the weapon in their car, and admitted that earlier in the day one of them had shot off several rounds, Joliet police said.

A traffic stop Tuesday night led to the arrest of three teens found to be driving around with a loaded gun in their car, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said. Tactical officers pulled over Victor Harris, 18, of 3608 Indian Head Lane, at about 10:20 p.m. at Jefferson and Reed streets when they determined he was driving despite having had his license revoked/suspended, Demick said. When they looked into his car, they spotted not only the gun but also an open bottle of Crown Royal and a cup containing the whiskey, although no alcohol-related charges were filed, he said. Residents From Plainfield, Joliet Arrested after Black Friday Brawl: Police

Shoppers disrupted by melee; alleged combatants charged with mob action.

Black Friday shopping got a bit dicey in the wee hours of the morning, Nov. 23 at Louis Joliet Mall, according to police. Officers from the Joliet Police Department were called to break up a brawl that allegedly started at Panera Bread and spilled out into the mall. Man Arrested for Stabbing Wife in the Throat in Violent Home Altercation

A Will County man who stabbed his wife in the throat and knocked out her teeth has been charged with aggravated domestic battery. Julio A. Rubio, 36, of 21440 Franklin Circle, attacked his 35-year-old wife in their unincorporated Plainfield at about 5 a.m. Tuesday, Will County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said. The wife, whose name was not released, was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital before being transported in serious condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. "Mr. Rubio was very agitated and unfocused, and when one of our deputies approached him, he took off running," Hoffmeyer said.
