A hazardous weather outlook is in effect.
Updated at 7 a.m. Feb. 27: The National Weather Service's hazardous weather outlook is now calling for light snow Wednesday, with additional accumulation of around an inch for the Plainfield area. Snow will diminish to light snow showers Wednesday evening. Updated at 10 p.m. Feb. 26: The winter storm advisory has been replaced with a hazardous weather outlook for areas including Will and Kendall counties. According to the National Weather Service, wet snow will continue Tuesday night, with additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches across the area. Updated at 9 a.m. Jan. 27 A winter storm watch has given way to a freezing rain advisory for the Plainfield area. The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Sign up for the Plainfield Patch newsletter According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of light freezing rain and sleet late in the morning and freezing rain early in the afternoon, with little or no sleet accumulation and ice accumulation of around one-tenth of an inch. Since pavement and soil temperatures are below freezing, any liquid precipitation will likely freeze on contact and result in icy and dangerous travel conditions.
