Plainfield Officials: No Water Rate Increase in 2013
Despite ever-increasing rates for Lake Michigan water, the village won't pass the increased cost on to residents this year.
The village is making good on a promise to break the cycle of increasing water rates. Director of Public Works Allen Persons on Monday announced that Plainfield water rates will not increase for fiscal year 2013-14. Water and sewer rates will stay steady — a welcome change from the increase residents saw in 2012, after the City of Chicago hiked the rate for Lake Michigan water by 25 percent.
