Plainfield Residents Charged in Police Raid with Selling Heroin, Cocaine

The Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team made the busts, which in addition to the drugs also yielded guns and dynamite.

A police raid on a Plainfield house Tuesday morning netted three arrests and a cache of heroin, cocaine, guns and dynamite. The Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team, of which a Plainfield police officer is a member, obtained a search warrant to go into the house at 14904 S. Center St. Tiffany N. Book, 19, who lives at the house, was charged with four counts of manufacture/delivery of 10 to 15 grams of heroin, according to the Will County jail booking list. Also living at the house was Mark P. Stephanites, 49, who was charged with illegal possession of 15 or more grams of cocaine, possession of explosives/incendiary devices and unlawful use of weapons. Feds Bust Local Man on Narcotics Charges

Evaristo Martinez-Zamaniego is one of 20 to be indicted through an investigation conducted by the FBI and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

A Plainfield man was among 20 arrested Tuesday on federal drug trafficking charges, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Chicago. Evaristo Martinez-Zamaniego, 28, of Plainfield, who also lists an address in Cicero, was among the defendants arrested in the Chicago area and Laredo, Texas, for their roles in distributing cocaine and using a telephone to facillitate narcotics trafficking, the U.S. Attorney's office release said. A joint investigation conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI in 2010 led to the charges. During the course of the probe, officers seized more than $12.4 million in cash and 250 kilograms of cocaine, the release said. Police also recovered $480,000 cash and about 250 kilograms of heroin …

Man Who Sold Drugs from his Plainfield Home Gets 3 Years

Vaughn Falkenberry pleaded guilty to his role in a drug ring from which police netted about $750,000 in drugs, cash and weapons.

A man who helped run a drug ring out of his Plainfield home three years ago will serve three years in prison. Vaughn A. Falkenberry, 38, formerly of the 24000 block of Norwood Drive, now of Naperville, pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance in Will County Circuit Court Wednesday, according to a story published by the Naperville Sun. He was sentenced by Judge Richard Schoensted. Falkenberry was one of five people involved in the drug-selling operation from which more than 54,000 grams of cannabis, 20 grams of cocaine, a stolen 9-mm handgun, a .44-caliber handgun, a carbon pistol rifle and a safe with $26,000 were recovered, the story said.
