Blog: Could These Shoes Put Your Child in Danger?
Children are being taught how to respond if someone shows up to their school with a gun, leading this mother to contemplating getting rid of her son's light-up shoes.
I had a conversation with my 7-year-old daughter today about Stranger Danger. What triggered the conversation? Her pleas to not let her little brother wear his favorite light-up gym shoes to school. My thoughts were, ”I just spent $50 on his shoes. He loves them. He is going to wear them.” She responded quickly with a prescribed “Stranger Danger” plan that she learned from school. It wasn’t the typical “Don’t take candy from a guy in a van” type of speech that has been rattled off across kitchen tables across America over the decades.
