Dear Editor; As a recently retired teacher of 34 years, it is certainly a surprise to me that the pension system (Teacher Retirement System) that I have been quietly paying 9.4 percent of my salary each and every month for the past 34 years has suddenly become such a hot button for the people of Illinois. Probably the reason folks are reacting with such emotion is that much of the information disseminated is untrue. I have been searching for an appropriate response, and have finally found it!
