HopScotch Goes Dark; May Be Temporary

Hop Scotch & Vine, a downtown restaurant/bar that opened less than three months ago, has hung a "closed" sign on its front door. Bill Habiger, who owns the building in which the 24047 Lockport St. business is located, said owners Michelle Kosiek and Jordan Bryce locked the door Friday with the promise that the closure would be short term as they sorted out an "internal conflict" over the business' direction. A note on the restaurant's Web site Monday said it would reopen at 5 p.m. Tuesday. However, that did not happen and it remained closed as of Wednesday night. Not commenting to the press, regardless of how you feel about them, does nobody any good. We've had decades of local press only printing puff pieces about local businesses and the truth (which was usually obvious to residents) was never touched so toes wouldn't be stepped on.
