Plainfield South Grad Charged in Crest Hill Party Game Death

Tiffany Startz and another man face felony reckless conduct charges in connect with the death of rapper John "Fatboy" Powell.

A party game that turned fatal for a Romeoville man has led to the arrest of a Plainfield South High School graduate and another man. Tiffany Startz, 21, 2421 Satellite Drive, Joliet, who graduated from PSHS in 2007, and Jimmy Mounts, 27, 424 Garland Ave., Romeoville, were charged with felony reckless conduct in connection with the death of 25-year-old John A. Powell, according to a report published by the Joliet Herald-News. The party took place Sept. 25 in the garage of a home in the 2000 block of Waterford in Crest Hill, police said. According to accounts, Mounts was taking $5 bets from people that they couldn't take a punch from Startz. Plainfield Man Charged in Attempted Burglary of Joliet Restaurant

Two others also arrested after failed burglary at Metro Bar & Grill in Joliet, police say.

A Plainfield man and two others were arrested in connection with the attempted burglary of a Joliet restaurant. Victor Klocek, 18, 22713 Bass Lake Road, Plainfield, and Jack D. Carpenter, 51, 507 Whiteside Court, Joliet, were arrested Dec. 29 and charged with attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property. They were stopped just a few blocks away from the scene of the alleged crime, Metro Bar and Grill, 2019 Essington Road, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Michael Trafton said. Also arrested was Angelica Galan, 27, 3420 S. Maple, Berwyn, who was charged with possession of drug equipment.
