119th Street Bike Path Work to Start This Friday
Plainfield officials warn drivers to be aware of construction trucks on the south side of the street; the work should be finished by the end of April.
Construction work on a new stretch of the 119th Street Bike Path is to begin Friday. Drivers are warned to be aware of trucks and equipment entering and exiting the south side of the street from Heritage Meadows Drive to Olympic Drive, according to a Plainfield news release. The good news is no road closures will be needed for the work, which will link two bike paths and should be finished by month's end. Also good news is the fact that the lowest bid for the job -- $36,511 from Austin-Tyler Construction of Elwood -- came in more than $5,500 below the village engineer's cost estimate.
