Channahon Police have the 43-year-old Yorkville resident in custody.
A 43-year-old Oswego Police Officer was in custody Wednesday night after a standoff in a plaza off Route 6 in Channahon. John. P. Wolfinbarger, 43, of the 12000 block of Mackenzie Road in Yorkville was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer and DUI alcohol. Wolfinbarger is an 11-year veteran of Oswego Police Department. Channahon police responded to a call from patrons at Chicago Pizza & Catering Company that a man was inside arguing with someone and that he had a gun. While witnesses were speaking to police on the scene, they saw the man trying to leave in a black pick-up truck. They surrounded the vehicle, but the man inside would not speak with police. Mason K. Dunne, 21, of Pennsylvania was charged with two felony counts for weapons and one misdemeanor.
A Pennsylvania man is being held on weapons charges Wednesday morning after Oswego police stopped him in the parking lot of the Route 34 Walmart with an AR-15 style rifle, 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition. Oswego Police responded to Walmart at about 8:07 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man with a weapon in his vehicle. Upon arrival, police met with a witness and were informed that Mason K. Dunne, 21, of Pennsylvania, allegedly had an AR-15 style rifle in car. Police located the vehicle in the parking lot and found Dunne in the car. Dunne was removed from the vehicle without incident and during a search of the vehicle the AR-15, 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition were located. Today we're introducing a new feature on Patch called OMG PD. It's a collection of some of the most interesting and bizarre crimes from around the area in recent days. Daryl Florenco Dourado, 25, of the 1500 block of Acorn Court in Lombard, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. June 15 near 95th Street and Reflection Drive, Naperville police said. He was charged with unlawful use of weapons, operating a vehicle without insurance, speeding 30 MPH or more over the limit and disobeying a traffic control device. His bond was $200. Dourado was stopped for running a red light and traveling 103 MPH in a 45-MPH zone. Under the driver's seat were two cans of pepper spray, metal knuckles and an expandable baton.
